We are super excited to announce that Lockdown Composer V4.0 has just landed, including real-time FX Rack Automations and expanded performance recorders ... making it easier than ever before to create and shape new sounds for your compositions.
Realtime FX Rack Automations
As well as all the different linear recording options to create samples from your performances, you can now use the gorgeous new automations editor for instant scheduling. You can record automation points by naturally performing on the performance-oriented FX Racks. You can also create and edit automation points more precisely using mouse gestures.
Performance Recorders
In this release, we have also created an expanded list of performance recorders that capture your performances in a linear timeline, allowing you to create samples and variations instantly, ready for slicing and shaping into your compositions. As well as the mic and master out recorders, you can now record the performance-oriented audio units in a separate channel, including performances on the Drummer, Synth, Sampler and the Pad-Lock. We have also included the capability to record 4-Channel output streams from your 8 FX Racks acting in pairs, aligned to your sample categories. This lets you create, slice and shape 4 separate streams of audio, ready for reuse in your compositions. The performance recorders can be used simultaneously with the new rack automation features.
Ghost Slices
Ever wanted to adjust the timing and beat match different parts of the same sample in-place? You can now do this by creating ghost slices and manually dragging the audio wave for precision placement and beat matching. Changes to your ghost slices can be instantly reflected on the master sequencer.
Timing Dashboard
We have included a dedicated Timing Dashboard to help you beat match, adjust and fix time and bpm differentials across different samples, including a new intelligent slice correction feature, to ensure slice boundaries fit within your song's master beat grid.
Quantised Slice Changes
You can already synchronise your slice transitions in the Slicer. With this release, we have made improvements to the slice allocation algorithms, enabling you to use the Slicer as a performance unit, in collaboration with the master sequencer. Slice changes are now quantised in realtime as they are uploaded to the sequencer patterns, enabling you try slice transitions, with all FX Racks applied, using sample-accurate scheduling in realtime.
We have also made improvements to a whole range of additional features introduced since the previous major release, including:
- Performance Dashboard for all X-Filters across all FX Racks
- Range of one-click song structure generation features
- Playground for creating and testing melodic patterns on the Player
- Drum Pattern and looping Playground on the Drummer
We have also made improvements to the timing engine as well as a host of additional performance and usability improvements throughout.
